I adore this movie. And based on user comments on youtube and imdb, I’m not the only one. It’s quite possibly my favourite music-related feature film.
The movie follows the struggles of a dysfunctional indie rock band from Raleigh, NC called Circus Monkey. Probably the only actor you will recognize is Kevin Corrigan as the guitarist. I think this was the first thing I ever saw him in.
The problem with most movies of this type is the music created for the band in the film just plain sucks. That is definitely not the case here, the songs by Greg Kendall are actually great. So much so that when I originally saw this movie on IFC years ago, I immediately bought a copy of the then out of print soundtrack on ebay.
Yet for some reason, this very fine movie has never made it to dvd. I had a tape of it I had always planned on digitizing but when I got around to it, I found the tape no longer functioned.
Fortunately, I found Cult Cine, who offer a widescreen dvd of the film. Not sure where this comes from, possibly commercial vhs or tv broadcast but the quality is excellent, certainly better than not having the movie at all!

Thanks for linking us, the source for our DVD is from the Out of Print Japanese DVD.
Cool, thanks for the additional info!
