I was watching last night’s episode of Californication and was pleased to hear the first song played in the party segment was “New Situation” from the Stereotypes awesome album 2.
So I went to check if that album was still on emusic since I know over the years, various of their albums have come and gone from there. It was not there but something new called the Grey EP was!
Now by way of background, emusic and I have had a falling out over their mishandling of a customer service issue so I was put in the unfortunate position of reactivating my account just to get this new ep. But first, I decided to do a little research.
Visting the Stereotypes site yielded no mention of any Grey EP but it did reference an Orange EP with 6 completely different tracks! My lucky day!
And if you’ve followed those links, I think you will surmise that I managed to avoid emusic altogether and instead grabbed both these albums as mp3s from cdbaby. No long term commitment and I think the band gets more from the sales anyways.
So now I’ve got 12 new tracks from my favourite band to listen to which when you add in 5, brings their total output this year to 20 tracks. I shall try to report back once I’ve had time to digest these new ones but this certainly made my day!
