It’s been a long time since I’ve considered Spin magazine to be a valuable source of information on music. That being said, I have been enjoying going through these two end of year lists of theirs to see what I missed: The 40 Best Albums of 2009 Found a number of [...] According to this article, there will not be a third season of Flight of the Conchords. That’s too bad but I can imagine that show was harder to write than most. In the good news column, the third season of Breaking Bad is scheduled to air starting in March. But [...] Since we’re 2/3 of the way through the year, it’s time to start working on those lists. So far, 2009 seems like a really slow year for me music-wise. In fact, without a couple late entries from the two best bands in Memphis—Reigning Sound’s album just came out and Lucero’s is due out [...] I recently read Akira Hiramoto’s Me and the Devil Blues: The Unreal Life of Robert Johnson, Book One and have now moved on to book two. Although this is a Japanese graphic novel, it is not drawn in what I would refer to as the “typical manga style” which I’ve always found kind of childish [...] Enjoyed this globe article today about the Trick’s upcoming album The Latest. Apparently, they will be shipping it to radio stations (who don’t play their new releases anyways) on 8 track tapes. Nice!
